The City of Grand Terrace shares in the regional goal of cleaner air through the use of alternative fuel vehicles. The City owns and operates a number of fleet vehicles and plans to replace conventional fueled vehicles with alternative fuel vehicles when feasible.

Project Objectives

The purpose of this project is to purchase two Ford F150 pickup trucks equipped with 5.4 L dedicated CNG engines. The pickups will be used by the streets department for general maintenance within the City.

Project Status Description

Vehicles were placed into service on December 29, 2003. The original scope of the project called for the purchase of 4 vehicles and construction of a fueling station. Due to budgetary constraints, Grand Terrace was unable to purchase all vehicles and construct the fueling station. The City plans to build a three station fueling station in the near future.
