Monrovia and Duarte were the primary beneficiaries of the reductions in emissions. The percentage of persons who began ridesharing and from what points of origin are unknown. It conceivably could be beyond the city limits of both cities which expands the area of benefit.
Based upon the co-sponsorship of the Cities of Monrovia and Duarte, 12% of the employees and residents responded to the survey. That equates to 6,000 people. On average, 20% of ridematch survey respondents shifted ridesharing modes. Therefore, an estimated 1,200 people will start ridesharing, bicycling, or walking. The projected elimination of 1,536 daily vehicle trips calculated as follows: (1,200 persons placed) x (.64 vehicles eliminated per person placed) x (2 trips per day). Total daily Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT), totalled 23,040. The total daily emissions reduced equates to 806 lbs. daily.
