Project Background

Developed the curriculum materials for grades 3-6. ATN worked with professionals to develop a program which included posters, activity books, work sheets, air quality experiment instructions, information sheets for parents, and instructional materials for teachers. ATN established and maintained a speakers bureau to provide teachers access to outside experts and industry professionals qualified to speak on mobile source air pollution issues. The bureau was maintained by ATN enabling a teacher to make the request and the appropriate logistics would be provided by ATN.

The program did not directly reduce emissions, but by educating the children, the long range reductions will come as the children become adults with an awareness of the harmful effects of pollution.
