The City of Claremont provides trash and recycling services to both residential and commercial customers using City staffing and fleet. The City recently purchased two CNG sideloaders to collect and haul trash from residential customers.
The project is now complete and the two vehicles are in service.
The project objective was to update the City of Claremont's sanitation fleet with two new, CNG sideloaders. The CNG sideloaders will reduce emissions as compared to their diesel equivilants, which is consistent with the City of Claremont's sustainability goals.
The City of Claremont will continue to update its sanitation fleet with clean, CNG vehicles as vehicles come due for replacement. This successful project can be easily replicated as diesel and CNG vehicles that have exceeded their useful life come due for replacement.
The CNG sideloaders are now in service as part of an established route, servicing residential customers four days per week.
The two CNG sideloading sanitation vehicles were purchased exclusively with MSRC and City of Claremont funds.
