MSRC SAYS THANKS TO BOB BARTLETT Dedicated Elected Official Retires From Public Service

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. — The Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) said a fond farewell recently to one of its members, former Monrovia Mayor Bob Bartlett who served on the clean air committee since 1998. Bartlett represented the Southern California Association of Governments on the MSRC, and was instrumental in developing and advancing the landmark legislation that put into place the AB 2766 Discretionary Fund administered by the MSRC. He has been a dedicated advocate for clean air and has played a key role in crafting innovative programs to reduce pollution from mobile sources.

Bartlett has been an elected official for more than 25 years and was first elected to the Monrovia City Council in 1974. He was first appointed mayor in 1976 by his fellow councilmembers and went on to be elected mayor in a general election in 1988.

As a past president, boardmember, and member-at-large for numerous regional, state and local organizations including the League of California Cities, Foothill Transit, Southern California Association of Governments, L.A. Sanitation District, and the Monrovia Boys Club, Bartlett has been a strong supporter of fiscal responsibility and economic development as well as public safety and quality of life programs. His involvement in regional issues including air quality and transportation initiatives have helped the region to move closer to achieving its clean air goals.
