Stakeholder Ideas Wanted at Upcoming MSRC Regional Work Program Workshops

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. - The Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) is holding a series of workshops to get stakeholder ideas about how to allocate millions of dollars in Clean Transportation Funding for its upcoming annual Work Program. The MSRC distributes approximately $14 million dollars each year through its Work Program to projects designed to reduce emissions from mobile sources in the South Coast Air District. There are five remaining workshops throughout the Southland from which to choose: Workshop #1 - Riverside County July 25, 2012, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Riverside County Transportation Commission 4080 Lemon Street, 3rd Floor, Conference Room A Riverside, CA 92502 Workshop #2 - Eastern Los Angeles County July 26, 2012, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. County of Los Angeles Internal Services Department 1100 N. Eastern Avenue, Conference Room G101 Los Angeles, CA 90063 Workshop #3 - San Bernardino County July 27, 2012, 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon San Bernardino Associated Governments 1170 W. 3rd Street, 2nd Floor San Bernardino, CA 92410 Workshop #4 - Coachella Valley/Eastern Riverside County July 31, 2012, 10:00 - 12 noon City of Cathedral City City Council Chambers 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero Cathedral City, CA 92234 Workshop #5 - Western Los Angeles County/Coastal Orange County August 1, 2012, 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine Administration Offices 2760 N. Studebaker Road Long Beach, CA 90815 The first workshop was held in Orange County on July 12. The more than 25 attendees offered great ideas for projects for which they would like to see funding available - everything from bikesharing to traffic signal synchronization to continued funding for alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure. In fact, suggestions from last year's successful workshops helped spur at least two Work Program categories that the MSRC funded this year - the Transit-Oriented Bikeshare Program and the Medium Duty Vehicle Program - so attending these workshops and providing input really does make a difference.
