DIAMOND BAR, Calif., (July 6, 2001): There is now a central repository for information on clean air projects, thanks to a new library link on the website of the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) – http://cleantransportationfunding.org. By clicking on the library link, viewers can search for summaries of past clean air projects in 18 different categories including telecommuting, electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and more. The electronic library is unique in the world of air pollution reduction. The MSRC is a committee responsible for funding transportation-related clean air projects.
There are over 400 projects chronicled on the website dating back to 1993. A user can search for projects in a variety of ways including key words, contractor name, and type of project. Once projects matching the search appear on the screen, the user can click on the project and a standard template appears which gives basic project information, a brief summary and the air pollution reduced as a result of the project. There are also links to studies, research reports and other collateral materials related to each project topic.
“The MSRC website library will be an invaluable resource for anyone looking for information on clean air projects or who is interested in submitting their own proposal for funding,” said MSRC Chairman Will Kleindienst. “We hope to share the lessons that have been learned over the years to help speed progress toward our clean air goals.”
The projects summarized in the library were all partially funded by the MSRC. Each summary also includes a final report detailing how successful the project was, problems that were encountered and how it reduced air pollution. In addition to project summaries, the MSRC website library contains agendas and minutes of past MSRC meetings, as well as request for proposals and other newsworthy items.
