The Sheriff's Department converted 100 Ford Crown Victorias to bi-fuel, natural gas and gasoline. Conversion of these vehicles provided justification for Southen California Gas to construct a $500,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station in Rancho Cucamonga which was opened to the public. The fuel station delivers 150 or more cubic feet of CNG per minute, making it a fast fill design. The station includes a dispenser inside the garage complex and a separate dispenser located outside the secured area for use by both county and citizens' vehicles.
