The El Camino College Police Department expanded their campus bicycle patrols with the addition of two new electric bikes, plus the conversion of two new existing conventional bikes to an electric assist configuration. These bicycle patrols were very favorably received by both police department personnel and the students for their ability to travel throughout areas of the campus, affording better protection without disturbing walkways.

The estimated emissions reductions attributable to this project are a decrease in reactive organic gases by 37.7 pounds, in oxides of nitrogen by 25.5 pounds, and in carbon monoxide by 34.7 pounds.
