Designed and installed on 75 Torrance Transit Buses a system to monitor automated fare transaction system using radio frequency proximity cards; automated passenger counting system to record boardings and alightings for all passengers; automated, computerized speech for bus stop announcements; automated vehicle locations using Global Positioning Satellite receivers; and the capability for bus priority/preemption of traffic signals.
