Project Implementation

The City of Chino Hills solicited competitive bids and awarded the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.

Project Objectives

The objective of the project was to purchase one (1) medium-duty Ford Club Wagon equipped with a Ford 5.4L 255 hp V-8 CNG engine. This vehicle will be used to shuttle residents to activities and facilities within the community and will also be used for local excursions. The vehicle has a life expectancy of 10 years with an estimated 12,000 miles annually.

The City took delivery of the 15-passenger CNG van on June 2, 2002. No substantial problems were encountered during the project. The City is in the process of building a time fill CNG fuel station.
