Southland Transit, Inc. is a private contractor to the Metropolitan Transit Agency (MTA) and operates routes in the Eastern Region of the San Gabriel Valley. At this time, 20 CNG buses are operating. Southland Transit intends to transition its entire fleet to natural gas buses by year-end 2008, a total of 45 buses. Southland Transit partnered with Clean Energy to design, construct, operate and maintain the on-site limited access CNG station.

Construction has been completed and the station is operational.
This contract provides $150,000 in funding to offset the cost of installing a new limited access compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station located at 14913 East Ramona Boulevard in Baldwin Park, California. The primary user of this facility will be Southland Transit, Inc, the site owner. Clean Energy will maintain and operate this station for a minimum of five (5) years.
Station construction started in March 2006 following approval of all site plans and acquisition of all necessary permits. No technical or programmatic issues were encountered during construction. The station was completed on December 7, 2007.
The station is fully operational. No technical issues have been reported.
