The City constructed a time-fill CNG station in 2009 but was outgrowing this station and needed a fast-fill station to accommodate smaller light duty vehicles which needed more frequent and faster refueling. Therefore, a grant was submitted to MSRC to assist with design and construction costs.

Construction was completed in April 2014.
The object was to design and construct storage and a dispenser for fast-fill CNG fueling. The station had to expand on the existing infrastructure for the time-fill which remain in service for our larger, heavy-duty CNG vehicles for transit and public works. Currently the station is used by City fleet only.
This project is easily replicated in other communities with an existing time-fill CNG station.
The station is open and in-service for city fleet vehicles. Construction was completed in April 2014. The previously existing time-fill station also remains in operation.
The City of South Pasadena matched $126,749 for this project.
