Project Background

Project Cost Description

54438

Project Implementation

Dy-Dee Service purchased the two CNG E350 vans from Carmenita Truck Center. The vans were fully configured for dedicated CNG at the time of delivery. The Ford D59 truck was purchased from South Bay Ford and outfitted with its aluminum body at Utilimaster. Utilimaster then delivered the vehicle to Green Alternative Systems, who installed the CNG fuel system. The fully configured vehicle was delivered on November 11, 2013 and placed into service on November 15, 2013.

Project Objectives

The purpose of this project was to procure medium and medium heavy-duty vehicles for use in laundry pickup and delivery that utilize cleaner burning compressed natural gas fuel as opposed to gasoline or diesel fuel. Dy-Dee purchased two Ford E350 vans and one Ford F59 truck that operated on dedicated compressed natural gas fuel.

Project Results Description

The Dy-Dee fleet benefits from the use of CNG through lower fuel purchase costs. The environmental benefits include lower emissions of criteria air pollutants as well as lower emissions of greenhouse gases. The Dy-Dee delivery truck fleet of 18 vehicles now operates 100% on cleaner burring natural gas fuel.

Project Status Description

At this time, all three vehicles are operating in revenue service and no serious technical issues have been encountered.
