The natural gas truck purchased with MSRC co-funding supports mobile CNG refueling of various mobile and stationary equipment throughout the Disneyland Resort. The new mobile refueling truck itself operates on natural gas. The vehicle is an Isuzu truck equipped with a General Motors 6.0L engine up fitted with the Baytech Technologies CNG fuel system. The mobile refueling truck services the five Main Street CNG buses that operate within the theme park, as well as three Tom Sawyer Island rafts and the Columbia Sailing Ship attraction vessel. It also services 27 CNG fueled backup generators throughout the park. and as a backup refueling truck for the guest parking lot trams.
The purpose of this project was to replace a model year 2001 diesel truck with a new vehicle fueled by clean-buring natural gas.
The CNG-powered mobile refueling truck has not encountered any technical issues since it was placed into service.
